At eight each morning, a small blue car pulls up outside Mrs Thompson’s house.

Sarah, her carer, lets herself in with a cheerful “Good morning!” The kettle goes on, the curtains open, and the house wakes up. They talk about the weather, about grandchildren, about the sparrow that keeps stealing crumbs from the garden table.

Sarah helps with breakfast, medication, and a gentle walk around the living room to keep the legs moving.

Before she leaves, she makes sure the radio is on and the tea is within reach.

Mrs Thompson waves from the window.

She’s still in her own home. And that makes all the difference.

A fictional ‘feel good’ story.
